G Pen

The “G” in G Pen is short for Grenco Science, an American vaporizer company selling aromatherapy and hookah vaporizers using herbs, oils, and liquids respectively. Their website offers something different from any other right now.

Not only do they appeal to users of all these products, but they do so with one brand and several models, each one portable. In fact, they are the size of a thick pen or an eGo electronic cigarette. While a lot of online retailers catalogue lots of products from several different companies, Grenco Science sells sleek electronics for many consumers under a single banner.

GrencoScience.comA G Pen Review

A visit to the Grenco Science site is worthwhile just because of their slick and fashionable products. There is no glitter, yet I could feel the presence of a fashion savvy designer.

The dark backdrop was simply cool. Their webpage was built from sophisticated street cred: nothing too showy, but unique at the same time.

The Greco Science site is easy to navigate and customers can get in touch with the company in several ways. Internet methods are encouraged (including social media and email), but a phone number is provided too.

Snail mail is not promoted and I could not locate where they come during an investigation of the site, though there are plenty of FAQ questions answered from simple “what is vaping” queries to more complicated stuff.

The Snoop Dogg Line

Snoop Dogg, a U.S. film and music celebrity, has designed a vaping pen bearing a road map of nostalgic places around Long Beach. For $99.95, customers enjoy a good-looking pen unlike whatever most people are using. It resembles an eGo vaping pen but that is where similarities end.

Inside, the device is designed to take herbal substances like lavender or thyme. Outside, the stainless steel shell and hardened-glass sleeve are durable, attractive, and functional. The price mentioned also includes cleaning tips, a USB charger and adapter, a brush, and sleeves.

$100 is a fairly high price and I suspect you are paying partially for design and that Snoop Dogg connection. As with all of the products listed here, Snoop Dogg’s G pens are made for either herbs or essential oils, but not both. If they were hybrid pens then the price tag would be reasonable.

The Regular Line

Accessories listed above are also included in the regular G Pen packages, including their Micro: a squat version of the Snoop Dogg pen. Buy the Micro G Vaporizer for $99.95 and get 4 Micro G tanks, a mouthpiece, 5 sleeves, a key chain, the chargers, glass containers, and cleaning tips.

No, you do not need a key chain. You might be reminded of Vapor Couture and their excessively priced but fashionable line of e-cigs. While much of what comes in a package is not necessary for your vaping pleasure, like a necklace and charm, it’s all very pretty. People will ask you where the key chain is from: what a fun conversation starter.

There is a Hookah Vaporizer Kit for $79.95, or for the same price you can own a kit designed for use with thick oils. The package contains a coil, tool, adapter, USB, and glass containers. Just do not try to mix and match. Materials vaporized using the wrong tanks will mess up said tanks so they are useless to you in the future.

Accessories for the G Pen

You have rarely seen so many accessories for a lineup of vaporizers, perhaps because other sites cater to e-cig users in general or people vaping aromatherapy herbs through larger, portable devices like the PAX. As a hybrid company, Grenco Science has all kinds of products for your personal use, yet many that could double as gifts easily because they are gorgeous and classy.

Replacement batteries and tanks for hookah liquids, herbs, and oils come in assorted colors. They are expensive but well made. Look here for extra mouthpieces, hats, shirts, and hoodies. You’re going to have a hard time finding cheaper, compatible accessories online for the time being.

What’s missing?

It’s on the tip of your tongue, you know there’s something. Oils and herbs: a G Pen starter kit does not come with samples and no vaping materials are sold onsite. There isn’t even a link.

If you want e-liquid, finding a retailer is not difficult. There are countless companies selling juice, one brand has over 30,000 possible flavors, thanks to the art of blending e-liquids, and various levels of quality and pricing. Many firms make their juice in the United States and follow strict USP/FDA rules. Other juices are imported from Italy and China.

Only a few respectable-looking companies currently carry herbs and/or oils online. Several setups appear to target the cannabis vaping customer and are not enjoyable to visit unless you fit that profile. Grenco Science could do the public a favor and add some herbs and oils to their catalogue.

Instructional Videos

People learn to do things in three different ways. Kinesthetic learners get hold of stuff and just figure it out. Auditory learners need to hear instructions. Visual learners prefer to be shown how things work.

Whatever learning style suits you best, each one is represented on the website. You can read about products and just buy them, exploring the ins and outs as you go. Otherwise, play videos embedded on the website and watch/listen to instructions about operating a G Pen.

Getting to Know Grenco Science Better

It probably comes as no surprise after reading about the road-map pen that there is an artist series at Grenco Science. Artists and partners (Snoop Dogg is a partner) get to create designs for tanks and batteries.

Another series is the Charity Series. A portion of profits from these sales go directly to non-profit organizations. The trouble is, as I attempted to figure out what these were, the site just kept taking me to a page where I could donate.

It’s not that I’m too cynical to donate money to worthy causes, but I prefer to know what they are before parting with cash of any amount. Other customers would likely feel the same.
